Résumé
I Know: A Nativity Story contains four brief devotionals, each told from the perspective of individuals who witnessed the Advent of Jesus Christ. Author's disclaimer: We know very little about the events of the Nativity. For example, the entire journey from Nazareth to Bethlehem and the actual birth of Christ is contained in four verses, found in Luke 2:4-7. But how many scholars have researched those five or six days? How many disciples have walked the same road between Nazareth and Bethlehem, speculating what the journey was like for Mary? How many movies, vignettes, poems, and songs have portrayed what Mary or Joseph might have done and said? How many readers have wondered about that innkeeper? In writing I Know, I add my imagination to that of countless others who believe, and at the same time, wonder about the details left out of the narrative.
Scriptural integrity is important to me, and I stuck to the scriptures where it matters (using the KJV), built upon others' research where I could (as in the story of the Magi), and used my perspective and imagination for the rest.
