Wouldn't it be wonderful to read a want ad like this:Motorsports Reporter wanted. Qualifications -Must have passion for motorsports, professionalism, dedication, curiosity, some innate basic writing ability, and a desire to learn. No college degree required. Well, it is not as far-fetched as it may seem. While very few can make a living at it, many local tracks and small racing publications are in great need of someone to cover local motorsports tracks.
