Anthony Tateson is a famous and successful influencer and overall success guru. He has it all; the mansion, the cars, and the girls. Especially the girls. But he is hiding a dark secret from his audience, a secret that he is confident no one knows. When he meets the perfect girl online, he probably should have guessed she was too good to be true. And that there might be someone out there with a secret more dark than his own.
This story was born from a conversation about Audition by Ryu Murakami and the film direct by Takashi Miike. We had a olayful discussion of how Asami would react to the online 'manosphere'. Given how poorly she handled the simple lie of Aoyama omitting he had a kid, how would she react to a manipulator using 'negging' techniques? Of course, we took the character in other directions (being solidly Team Asami, we really wanted to explore that angle more).
Throw in some more influence from Hard Candy and Dexter and of course influences from our own lives and time and instead of a ad executive/video producer, we have a male influencer; instead of a former ballerina, we have a former Army truck driver; and instead of subtlety, we have a very clear villain so we don't have to feel bad for them. We sincerely hope you enjoy it.
