« This book is intended for people whose lives are affected by Amaxophobia. Based on my daily experience with patients suffering from this disorder, you will be able to follow a step-by-step protocol that I have developed, spread over twelve weeks. Deliberately concise for greater effectiveness, this book is designed to be practical in order to help you quickly regain confidence behind the wheel: in a gradual and guided manner, you will be able to put into practice the various techniques that I present and that I use on a daily basis with my patients.
At the end of the book, you will find a logbook to fill out, which will allow you to put the advice into practice and record your little victories. You can also refer to the theoretical section to learn more about the mechanisms at work: psychological, psychoanalytical, cognitive, and somatic. Equipped with all these tools, it's up to you to set up your personal care plan so that you can quickly regain the freedom to drive again. As a clinical psychologist, I have a practice near Montpellier, France.
From a psychoanalytical perspective, I offer sessions to patients suffering from amaxophobia using Virtual Reality Exposure Therapy (VRET). Due to my interest in this technical method and the high demand for consultations in this field, I put my training in Adult Psychiatry to good use, supporting patients both psychotherapeutically and by teaching them CBT techniques to help them quickly regain their freedom to drive.
