Résumé

Imprisoned in Lanka and emaciated by grief, Sita Devi, who is the devoted wife of Shri Rama and one who is dear to behold, is discovered by the heroic Vanara, Hanuman. Acting as Rama's messenger, Hanuman recounts his incredible, solo journey across the vast, one hundred yojana ocean (eight hundred miles) into the city of Rakshasas. Hanuman, the minister to Sugriva and son of the wind-god (Vayu), explains that he speaks Rama's glories to establish faith.
He verifies Rama's deep affection by detailing the Lord's reaction to separation: He describes how Rama, looking like God Himself, was so afflicted by grief that he lost consciousness and lamented in many ways upon seeing Sita's ornaments. He recounts how Rama, the most sober person and the best among all wielders of the weapon, lay on the ground for a long time until Hanuman, who spoke appropriate words, was able to get Him to rise.
Hanuman assures Sita, the daughter of Janaka, that everything he relates occurred as it actually occurred. He predicts that Rama, the highly valiant Purushottoma, will soon obtain her after killing Ravana and his friends and family. Through these reasons and marks, Sita attains unequaled happiness, shedding tears of joy. See the profound spiritual power of Hanuman's selfless service and witness how the light of the Divine removes the darkest grief, guiding the devoted soul toward the guaranteed association of the Supreme Lord, Shri Rama.
