Résumé

Since losing her childhood home, Milia has yearned to return to the quiet peace she grew up with while living in an abandoned farmhouse. Yet that childhood was a lie. Werewolves rarely know peace. Leaving her idyllic farmhouse, Milia is forced to live with humans. She must learn their ways and how to keep her werewolf identity a secret. Forced to attend high school, Milia makes friends with her next-door neighbor, a boy named Marty, and his Great Dane.
At first, being surrounded by humans seems like a bad idea. Then one night, Milia discovers a dark hunger stalking her. Now fortuitously shielded by humans, Milia continues to live her life, aware of the hunter but unable to confront it. She thinks she's safe, but what if the hunter isn't actually stalking her?Born from tragedy and blood, Milia's year with humans is a catalyst, propelling her into a life of danger.
Once upon a time there was a little girl who loved stories. She loved to listen to them and loved to tell them. As she grew, she learned to read and write. Then she learned to write down her own stories so that she could share them with others. She grew up, and started teaching children to love books, to read, and to write their own stories. Sherrie A Bakelar lives in the intermountain west with her family and a small menagerie of pets.
She loves to travel and enjoys birdwatching and photography. Sherrie spends a great deal of time working as a special education teacher. When she is not teaching, she often escapes into her fantasy worlds and writes, sharing her adventures with her readers.
