Betrayal, revenge, and sex-have been the primary ingredients of stories from time immemorial. But what makes a story new and exciting are the secondary ingredients. Tess, my erstwhile lover, had betrayed me by stealing my idea and presenting it to our boss as her own. I had set up my revenge by dressing in a sexy red dress and pretending to praise 'her' breakthrough in front of all our colleagues.
The secondary ingredients to the story were the warm pasta which I had poured over her head and the freezing applesauce which I had poured down her back.
