Jason "Flag" Barnes has just been released from a Cambodian prison for shooting and killing unarmed civilians during a hostage rescue mission. While serving ten years in hell, his wife, Miranda, dies of cervical cancer. Feeling bereaved, betrayed by his country, and by his old CIA paramilitary team commander, Henry Taylor, Flag decides it's time for some payback. He will make Henry suffer in all the ways he suffered.
Flag and his accomplices take Henry, his wife, and his son hostage, intending to deal out cold vengeance. But Henry's son, Kai, soon escapes, taking matters into his own hands and utilizing the military tactics taught to him by Henry. As a five-year-old boy, Kai witnessed something no child should ever see-the murder of his parents during a robbery-gone-wrong. Adopted by Henry and his wife, Kanya, he suffered endless nightmares of the massacre of his biological parents.
But Kai longed to be a hero like his new father. Now, in the ultimate test of courage and faith, fifteen-year-old Kai must overcome his fear and use everything Henry has taught him to battle a trained killer and save his parents from certain death.
