Résumé
The objective of this short 4-module course is that we will "launch out into the deep" - that is move to a new level in our experience with God - just like Peter did in Luke chapter 5. Jesus said to Peter "Launch out into the deep and let down your nets for a catch." Despite having fished all night and caught nothing, Peter obeyed. They caught so many fish that the nets started to break and two boats were almost sunk. The writer to the Hebrews urged them not to settle for mediocrity in their lives for Cod He said in Hebrews 6:1: "Therefore, leaving the discussion of the elementary principles of Christ let us go on to perfection." The height of a tree is determined by the depth of its root.
It is the root that bears the fruit. Depth matters. When we go deeper into the things of God, we get nearer to God Himself - which is all part of His plan in "sanctifying" us. He wants to draw us closer and closer to Himself. As we all come closer to Him, we thereby come closer to each other, just like the spokes on a wheel that meet at the centre. "For the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God." (1 Corinthians 2:10)
