We have good reasons to believe God exists. But there are good arguments against the existence of deity. The best reasons to believe revolve around the call for love, beauty, justice, and social order. A good God is likely the inspiration for all that's good. And the best arguments against God's existence assume deity is all-powerful. An omnipotent God likely does not exist. In this short but powerful book, Thomas Jay Oord argues that a particular view of God makes sense.
And that view prioritizes love and rejects omnipotence. Oord shows that most systematic theologies have not prioritized love. This is odd, given that scripture says "God is love, " and most believers regard love as central. Oord rectifies this error.
