Set in a near future transformed by generative AI, simulated worlds, and accelerating scientific discovery, Gift. Script follows a woman searching for purpose after the death of her brother. The technologies around her promise astonishing things: life-saving breakthroughs, cultural abundance, immersive realities, even new ways of modeling consciousness itself. Yet for all their power, they cannot resolve the ache at the center of her life.
As her work draws her deeper into fragile synthetic worlds that seem capable of producing not only knowledge but experience, she begins to wonder whether simulation can offer more than answers, whether it can restore meaning, or even reconnect her to what she has lost. What begins as a search for healing becomes something far more destabilizing: a growing suspicion that her own world may be just as constructed, contingent, and vulnerable to erasure as the ones she observes.
