»Gemeinsam unterwegs als Soldat und Christ« - unter diesem Titel feiert die heutige »Cornelius-Vereinigung (CoV) e. V. - Christen in der Bundeswehr« das 125-jährige Bestehen ihrer Gemeinschaft. Das Jubiläum legt einen Rückblick nahe, bei dem sich u. a. Fragen stellen wie: Was hat diese Soldaten als Christen bewegt und geprägt? Wie konnte und kann eine Gemeinschaft, die sich zum christlichen Glauben bekennt, im militärischen Kontext - auch der Bundeswehr- bestehen?
Die Antworten finden sich in wissenschaftlichen Aufsätzen namhafter Autoren und werden ergänzt durch die persönlichen Erfahrungen von Zeitzeugen der »Cornelius-Vereinigung (CoV)« .
Sie gehen dem Thema »Gemeinschaft« nach, ihrem Ziel, Ort und ihrer Form. Konsequenterweise führen die Beiträge zum Selbstverständnis dieser berufsspezifischen Gemeinschaft und einem perspektivischen Ausblick junger Offiziere, die an der Bundeswehruniversität in München studieren. V. -Christen in der Bundeswehr" celebrates the 125th anniversary of its community. The anniversary suggests a retrospective in which such questions arise: What moved and influenced these soldiers as Christians? How could and can a community professing the Christian faith survive in the military context - including the German armed forces? The answers can be found in academic essays by renowned authors and are supplemented by the personal experiences of contemporary witnesses of the "Cornelius-Vereinigung (CoV)".
They explore the topic of "community", its aim, place and form. Consequently, the contributions lead to the self-conception of this community based on a specific profession and a perspectival outlook of young officers studying at the Universität der Bundeswehr München.
