This small book covers fundamental treatment of discontinuities which gives rise to shock waves by various methods. It explains only one dimensional analysis. A detailed referencing is provided for further treatment in two and three dimensions in air, gases, fluids, their interaction amongthemselves and with solids. Aim is to design a mechanism to focus shock waves generated from high charge explosion (fission) onto a point which may be used to iinitiate thermal fusion.
