From Shepherd to King is the fourth book in The Crown Series, and it's all about David. Many of us know David as the teenager who slew the giant Goliath with a slingshot, and then went on to become the great King of Israel! But it's his life in between these times when God deals with David that we begin to understand the man himself, and the beginning of the nation of Israel. And through David, we also learn the character of God and the value of having faith in Him.
This book touches on the highlights of David's life and tells of some specific events that helped to mold the Jewish nation. The story is taken from the book of 1 Samuel 8 and goes through to 2 Kings 2. You'll be able to relate to David's feelings and his actions, and hopefully understand why you need faith in God, and how God will bring you through life's trials when you know Him and trust Him, just as David did.
