Résumé

Simone Ashford has spent five years preparing for this weekend. Forty-seven tabs. Four custom games. A color-coded Post-it system she will absolutely not apologize for. She arrives at Foxborough Manor - a honey-stoned Cotswolds inn buried in the English countryside - ready to run the most precisely engineered class reunion in the history of grudges. There is just one problem. The man she built all of it for is in Room Twelve doing crosswords and refusing to come down.
While Simone waits, the weekend begins to run itself. A retired English teacher is hunting a brooch stolen at the 1986 senior banquet, armed with a laminated suspect list and a magnifying glass from an antique shop because it felt right. A classmate in full 1920s period costume has appointed himself lead detective and is conducting theatrical interviews that are, accidentally, extracting real confessions from people who think they are performing.
The former valedictorian has divided the inn into quadrants and is solving Simone's carefully planted clues faster than Simone planted them - and announcing the answers to the room with the cheerful detachment of someone reading a fire evacuation route. Nobody is solving the right mystery. And at the bottom of the lost-and-found box in the entrance hall, under a keyless set of keys and a coverless paperback, is a friendship bracelet Simone was certain she had thrown away.
Forty years ago. At this inn. At seventeen. She didn't throw it away. It has been here the whole time. What follows is one evening of magnificent, overlapping chaos - four people pursuing four completely wrong answers while the truth Simone buried decades ago quietly surfaces anyway. Not because she was brave enough to dig for it. Because chaos, it turns out, is a better detective than armor. Foxborough Manor is a reader-guided cozy mystery with humor.
At key moments, you choose which path Simone takes - which character to follow, which clue to examine, which truth to face first. Every path arrives at the same ending. Only the order changes. Perfect for fans of Richard Osman, Alexander McCall Smith, and anyone who has ever spent forty years being slightly wrong about something important. The truth has been waiting forty years. It was never going to wait one more night.
