Résumé

It's four minutes past midnight when twelve-year-old Nicolaus discovers a way to stop time, just before he's about to lose everything. But should he change the past to change the future? An extraordinary novel about learning how to say goodbye for readers who adored Skellig. All is quiet on the hospital ward where Nicolaus and his father watch over his ailing mother. It is night-time and Nicolaus is growing restless.
He can't just sit around and wait; he needs to get away. And when he presses a button in the lift that wasn't there before he is transported to a very different kind of place. It's four minutes past midnight when Nicolaus arrives at the Final Station, two minutes before his mum will die. But time in this place has stopped, and now Nicolaus has the chance to revisit his past. What would you do if you could stop time? What if you could go back and do things differently? Can you change the past or the future.
Conny Palmkvist is an award-winning writer, editor and literary critic from Sweden. Having made a name for himself writing historical fiction for adults, in 2020 Palmkvist was awarded for his children's book debut in a contest hosted by one of Sweden's largest children's book publishers. The jury praised his unique tone and dark sense of humour. His signature is, and will always be, his close perspective, as well as the poetic undercurrents of his texts. Tom Percival is an award-winning writer, artist, video producer and musician based in Stroud.
He's the creator of several children's books including middle grade series Dream Defenders, award-winning novel The Wrong Shoes, picture books The Invisible and The River and the bestselling Big Bright Feelings series - translated into 21 languages. Tom has become the go-to talent for empathetic and inclusive books that explore emotional health and well-being, which resulted in him working with BBC Children in Need in 2020 on short film titled Goodbye Rainclouds.
