Foundation for Glorious Life: A Discipleship Course Handbook for New Converts and Believers

The strength of a building does not depend on its beauty or its outward attractiveness, but the foundation upon which it is built. No matter how beautifully it is constructed, a building has no guarantee of surviving future storms if it is not built on a strong foundation. Similarly, it is difficult or almost impossible for a person born anew in Christ to live a victorious life without having his or her feet firmly grounded in the word of God which is the sure foundation for all who believe in Christ.
The purpose of this manual, therefore, is to guide you through basic steps that would place you on "Christ the Solid Rock", where you can begin to build your Christian Character. It is structured and designed in a way that allows you to gain a better understanding of the basic principles which underpin a successful Christian life. In the book of Matthew, Jesus shows us the secret to building a solid foundation: "Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.
And everyone that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand: And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds 1 blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell, and great was the fall of it" (Matthew 7:24-27). As you go through the lessons, let it be your prayer and heart's desire to walk in the truth of God's Word and your life will never be the same.
