Résumé

Some of the most vital truths of the Christian faith are found in Genesis 3. It is here that we are introduced to Satan, sin, and death. We discover the origin of evil in the human race and see its impact on future generations. It shows God's compassion toward Adam and Eve in their sin. Probably the greatest truth of Genesis 3 is the promise of a Saviour to remove the curse of sin. Genesis 3 has also come under attack.
The idea of a serpent speaking to Eve, angels with flaming swords, and a lost garden never discovered has caused some to write it off as a fanciful story. The truth of this story, however, can not be taken lightly. It reveals the nature of the spiritual battle that still rages in our day. It explains the problem of evil. It demonstrates the importance of faith in God and His Word. More importantly, however, it shows us that though we are under the curse of sin, the Lord God has provided a means of escape for all who will, by faith, trust in His Son.
