Résumé

Enjoy this short story by Mace Styx... Excerpts:The sound of a man's voice calling out in the darkness caught the attention of the wolf causing it to run off into the night. Jack muffles a sigh of relief. He began making as much noise as he could to alert the stranger of his whereabouts. Soon a man's figure came into view. He was dressed in a dark raincoat and boots. He approached cautiously and looked around.
He crouched down to remove the tape from Jack's mouth."What happened to you?" he asked while staring like a deer in the headlights. " The craziest thing in my life. I was ambushed and tied up here. It's all I remember. I was probably robbed too." Jack spoke as if the fact had just dawned on him."Wow, " the stranger said as he tried to loosen the ropes tied around Jack. When it failed to work, he took out his pocket knife and slit them.
"Lucky thing I came around here then." the man smiled. Jack took in his features. The stranger looked to be on the younger side. He had hair that nearly covered his eyes and a tall build. Although he was on the smaller side, he was still muscular like he did work that required strenuous activities. "Yea. What are you doing here anyway?" Jack said as he stumbled to his feet. He was still a little disoriented.
"Night walks help clear my head. I like to be as far from people as possible.""Aren't you afraid of the wolves?" Jack asked." Honestly they should be afraid of me."
