Seven years have gone by since a man married and then stole nearly all the assets from Tracy Leeds. She has never been able to get past the hurt and anger. When she thinks she sees him at a fair she goes to the police. It seems he faked his death after robbing her. Though they can't help her, a private investigator hears the conversation. He is a pushoveer for women in need and wants to help her. He means to investigate the death for her but never expects to fall in love.
