Résumé

40-year-old Flora has just gone through a bitter divorce after 20 years of marriage. Thankfully, she can count on the support of her friends: Roxane, the cool hippie who loves to garden, Lea, the tireless career woman, and her old neighbor, Venerable. Like her friends, Flora would love to find her soul mate, but it's just not that simple. She has several promising dates, but once the first flush of passion is over, her lovers seem to disappear into the night.
Why does this keep happening? Is she not attractive enough? Is she so difficult to be around? Or is she being sabotaged by someone close to her? A story for the divorced (and perpetually single) 40-somethings who just want to take a moment to catch their breath, and maybe even enjoy their singledom, told through the eyes of Flora and her hilarious entourage.
As a Journalism and Communications graduate from Brussels University, Chantal van den Heuvel is passionate about writing. She has demonstrated her talent in various different domains, such as the novel ("L'ombre de Marcus, " (Marcus' Shadow), published by Mijade), and childrens' fairy tales ("Valentin dit non, " (Valentin says no), also with Mijade). She also dabbled in comic book writing, TV and cinema scriptwriting.
Between 1988 and 2000, she produced articles for various magazines, such as A +, Flair, Tintin Reporter. She co-wrote "Opération Bolivar" (Operation Bolivar) in 1991 with Gabrielle Borile, for the illustrator André Taymans, published by Lombard. In 1994, she wrote the "Feu d'Ange" (Angel Fire) albums with Paul Burton on the artwork, released with Glénat. But from 2003 onwards, she dedicated herself to the development of the periodical DOMUS.
In 2014 she came back to the world of comic books to write "Flora et les étoiles filantes" (Flora and the Shooting Stars), published in 2015, and illustrated by Daphné Collignon. This heart-warming album portrays a recently divorced forty-something, in search of a new love... Once she graduated from the Emile-Cohl school, Daphné Collignon started her working life doing the artwork for Isabelle Dethan's "Le Rêve de Pierres" (The Dream of the Stones), which she followed up with two volumes of "Coelacanthes." In 2009, she collaborated with the renowned reporter Anne Nivat on the album "Correspandante de Guerre 1" (War Correspondent 1).
The next year she participated in Frank Giroud's series: "Destins." Since then, she's had regular collaborations with the writer Virginie Greiner, and has also illustrated kids comics such as "Badésirédudou", "Mélodie des Iles", "Trois Gouttes de Sang", "Chaân", "La Petite Maison dans la Prairie", "La Guerre de l'Ours, " to name but a few. Daphné Collignon is also a teacher and graphic designer for video games.
