Fireworks Stand

One summer job. One impossible coworker. One connection neither of them planned for. Owen likes rules, routines, and knowing exactly what comes next. Working at a small-town fireworks stand is supposed to be simple: sell the inventory, survive the summer, and move on. Then Jax shows up. Funny, restless, and impossible to ignore, Jax disrupts Owen's carefully ordered world one joke at a time. Soon, long shifts turn into late-night arcade trips, diner booths, shared coffees, quiet moments by the river, and an attraction neither man can keep pretending isn't there.
But fireworks stands are temporary. Summer ends. People leave. And when Jax is offered the chance to do exactly that, Owen has to decide whether staying safe is worth losing the first person who's made him want something without a plan.
