Patsy Collins spends her time making things up and writing them down from her home in Lee-on-the-Solent or whilst traveling in a campervan - both shared with her husband. When away she enjoys scrambling round ruined castles, visiting friends and eating cake. At home she gardens, bakes (and then eats) cakes. She is the author of several stand alone novels, the Little Mallow cosy crime series and twenty-four themed collections of short stories. Hundreds of her short stories have been published in women's magazines.

Résumé
Chloe had never fully identified as Mum's child. Mum was always so perfect, with never a hair out of place, or a chipped nail. Chloe was a tomboy who didn't care how she looked - not a great advert for Mum's dress shop! Even so, she never doubted Mum loved her very much. Although she didn't look like him either, Chloe had more in common with her father. She liked being down the allotment with him, watching things grow and harvesting them.
Although she liked the edible things, her favourites were the beautiful dahlia blooms. Dad loved her just as much as Mum did. Chloe returned that feeling, and was happy and secure in her life. That was until she discovered her birth certificate wasn't an original, and a baby had been snatched from outside Mum's old dress shop in the same week she was born.
