Résumé
False virtue delves into how many in modern society have adopted a form of cheap virtue as a replacement for true virtue. For readers who want to understand the seemingly inexplicable conduct that we see today in our sociopolitical arena. We live in a culture of instant gratification where many are searching for the "quick fix" or the immediate easy solution, whether it be in the realms of health, beauty, entertainment, wealth, or status.
There is perhaps no better example of this than society's current relationship to virtue. Unfortunately, today many have replaced any notion of true virtue with a cheap counterfeit form - conduct designed solely for near-term virtue recognition and status without regard for any long-term consequences. In this book, we explore the nature of false virtue, including its origins, essential characteristics, and its many and varied forms, as well as the role of relative time preference in the need for virtue recognition.
False virtue is the root cause of many of the evils of the modern world, and at its heart this book is a call for an awakening, something that is desperately needed to save Western culture.
