#Everstrike. The Victory Series, #3.5

Everly Deveau (business owner, volunteer, quiet force of nature) and Strike Prescott (movie star, volunteer, will do anything for his friends), have been doing the will they/won't they for a while now. (He will, she won't.) After sharing an adventure and helping to save a friend, Everly finally pushed past her fears to give a relationship a try. Then she chickened out because she has a history of friends and more-than-friends finding her lacking and drifting away.
She can't handle it if Strike does, too. Strike has accepted being friend-zoned (for now) without giving up hope of convincing Everly that they're destined for more. When they get sucked into another adventure, motivations get called into question on both sides. Strike doesn't have to save Everly's life, but if he plays things right, he could just save their future.
