Résumé
One frightful night Amara's life changed and so did the Realm. The last thing her mother told her was to hide her true identity and survive. Years pass as Amara lives somewhere new and strives to become someone strong and no longer be the helpless teenager who couldn't stop her parents murders. Constantly hiding her magic Amara focuses on her sword skills, desperate to make a difference. A fight filled with betrayal and fury causes Amara to finally release some of her magic catapulting her life into a whirlwind of change.
Twin fae Princes appear in Amara's life and announce themselves as her mates. Each with magical powers that almost mirror Amara's. The bond between them both is evident but Amara doesn't accept them that easily, she's been hurt too much in her short life to open her arms willingly. Amara quickly finds that she can no longer hide and survive as her mother told her to do. It was time to join a dangerous rebellion and strive for change.
When Amara's powerful magic she was always told to keep secret reveals itself fully she finds herself entwined with her mates more than she realised.-- 'I saved her because she is mine.'Amara heard the gasps around the room but didn't look, she held Darius's stare. An overpowering amount of defiance to his claim flew through her. She was Connor's and he broke her heart, Amara didn't want to be claimed again.'I am no one's.' Amara said firmly.
A smile curved onto Darius's lips for the first time and Amara found her heart pumping faster than it should have been. 'Little dove, you are mine, my mate.'This time Amara stood and lifted her chin to Darius who towered over her. 'I am no one's. Not even yours, Prince Darius.'Amara watched as Darius looked shocked and intrigued that she had figured out who he was. Amara had suspicions when she saw the decorative armour he wore and then his name.
Any doubts she had were now gone, he confirmed her suspicions with his reaction.'Breathtaking, powerful and clever. What a perfect mate you are.' Darius meant his words a compliment, yet Amara heard them as a possessive claim that she had not agreed to.'I am not your mate.' Amara spat, although deep down she couldn't deny this feeling for Darius that was growing inside her with every breath. Sensing the tension rising Gillian chose to try and defuse it.
'Don't forget an epic fighter. I heard about you in the pit but I didn't believe it with you being so small. Perhaps we should have utilised your skills much sooner.'Amara smiled at the praise from Gillian, but Darius tensed next to her. His words were stern in reply, 'you will not utilise her. She will not be fighting.'Amara's eyebrows raised at his attempt to control her. She has known this fae for only a handful of minutes and he thinks he can say what she will be doing? Her blood boiled at his audacity.
She will not be controlled.'Firstly I will do what I damn well please.' Amara said with a pointed look at Darius, she chose to ignore the slight curve on his lips. 'Second Gillian, being small means nothing, I could easily take you down.'Amara didn't like this possessiveness. But this with Darius, if she was honest with herself, it was something more than finding him extremely attractive.
