Résumé

No historian will be able to tell the tale of the years covered in Jack Cashill's Empire of Lies without reference to this eye-popping book. Investigative reporter Cashill has covered in real time the stories that, for ideological reasons, Big Media chose not to pursue. During the 30 years under review, Cashill wrote 15 works of non-fiction and thousands of articles. The books include the definitive accounts of the TWA 800 disaster and the cover-up of Commerce Secretary Ron Brown's death.
In the fall of 2008, Cashill broke the code and deduced the real author of Barack Obama's Dreams from My Father. In 2013, he attended George Zimmerman's trial and wrote the first serious account of the watershed event that led to the creation of BLM. In his 2020 book Unmasking Obama, he deconstructed the Obama presidency scandal by scandal. In the years since, he has relentlessly exposed the lies Big Media told about George Floyd and, in 2024, he wrote arguably the most comprehensive account of January 6.
In the course of his work, Cashill has gotten to know the truth tellers Big Media slandered or ignored. Several he met in prison or in hiding. A few remain behind bars. Others have been shunned from polite society. All have stories to tell. In Empire of Lies, Cashill, a Ph. D. in American studies from Purdue University, weaves these stories together in a way that makes sense of the media's unfortunate descent into mendacity.
