Here are so many in the Body of Christ who love the Lord with all their hearts and who are doing their best to live holy lives before Him and yet the peace and joy that only He can give seems to elude them. These precious people of God will sit in church Sunday after Sunday; attend prayer meetings and bible studies and Sunday school and who will work whenever and wherever they were needed. And yet they always seemed to be only, "almost there." They never seem able to enter into more than marginal intimacy with the Father.
Their love relationship with the Father seems sporadic at best. There seems to be a common thread that runs in the course of their lives; they either cannot or will not allow themselves to be completely enraptured by the love of the Father. They seem to be on emotional lock down. For whatever reason there were walls that had been erected in their emotions, perhaps due to relationships experienced in the past or lack of relationships with their earthly fathers or other people in their lives.
Oh, they know of the love of God and they truly love the Lord, but at the same time seem stuck and never able to allow themselves to go beyond recognition of the love of the Father to being completely enraptured by love that is so powerful and so awesome and so freely given. Are you one of God's precious people who are stuck?
