ELSPETH: A Goldilocks Story in Three Acts follows the same family across three generations - Bavaria in 1830, the Mississippi Delta in 1931, and Binghamton in Memphis in 2010. Each act tells the story of a family at home and a girl who arrives uninvited. The girl is the same girl each time. She has always been the same girl. A literary horror novella set in the real geography of Memphis and the Mississippi Delta, written by a lifelong student of the history that survives in courthouse deed books and church records and the silences that appear in documents when something has happened that the surviving community preferred not to write down.
