Human beings have cracked Faster Than Light Travel and quantum entanglement has revealed solar systems exactly like earth's scattered throughout the galaxy. Escaping the dysfunction of earth, the crew of Elegiac arrives on Thetis, an earth in the Orion Arm of the Milky Way, where a moneyless, ecological civilization seamlessly reaps energy from storm and sea. Two of the crew meet their past and their alternate future - including children they never had.
Conflicted and silent, Shams faces her past while Eric enjoys the life offered on Thetis a little too much, including a wife he would never dared love on earth; conflicts and conflicting loyalties emerge among the team of four, but more than anything, the mysterious people of Thetis seem to hold the secret of the universe - is there anything to explain the phenomenon that has scrambled the finest minds on earth?
