Dawud Anyabwile is an award-winning artist, illustrator, animator, and storyteller best known as the co-creator of the groundbreaking Brotherman: Dictator of Discipline comic book series. His graphic novel credits include The Crossover, Booked, Victory. Stand!, Monster, Bad Boy, and REBOUND. His work on Victory. Stand! earned the Coretta Scott King Award and was nominated for the National Book Award.
He also directed the animated series Iyanu: Child of Wonder and is the creator of Drawing From The Soul, an arts and storytelling platform dedicated to inspiring creativity and empowering artists. Anyabwile continues to work across comics, animation, illustration, and visual storytelling while teaching, lecturing, and mentoring emerging artists. Juan Felipe Herrera is the US Poet Laureate and was inspired by the fire-speakers of the early Chicano Movement and by heavy exposure to various poetry, jazz, and blues performance streams.

He has received the National Book Critics Circle Award in poetry as well as a Guggenheim Fellowship, and previously served as California Poet Laureate. He has taught at both California State University, Fresno, and University of California, Riverside, and held the Tomás Rivera Endowed Chair in Creative Writing. He lives in Fresno, California.
