Résumé

An exciting, action-packed Western novel. After witnessing the brutal death of his ma and pa at the hands of a callous gang of desperados, young Jess Waites is tortured and left for dead. But fate intervenes in the form of Will and Maggie Pearson, local livery owners and all-round benevolent folk from the nearby town of Rispey Creek. Under the watchful eye of Doc Emmett Bannen and with a little tender care from Maggie, Jess makes a swift and miraculous recovery that no one anticipated.
Sadly, the trauma of his attack has left him with memory loss, which does not help frustrated Sheriff Ely McCall, who is hell-bent on finding the violent perpetrators who destroyed this innocent family. Will Jess regain his memory? Can the mysterious stranger passing through town be the answer to hunting down the outlaws? Or will this evil gang ride freely through the shadows and avoid their day of reckoning?
