Cyril's death visions so far have shown him the past. But when he experiences a brutal murder and sees it on the news the next morning, he realizes something has changed. He saw the murder as it happened. When the second vision strikes, Cyril recognizes the victim. Someone is targeting necromancers whose powers are evolving, and Cyril might just be next on the list. Desperate for answers, he seeks out Iris, an older necromancer who tells him about the Threshold, a transformation that either kills you, drives you mad, or turns you into something no longer quite human.
Most don't survive. Those who do lose what makes them human. Cyril needs to find a way to stop his ability from forcing him to cross the Threshold, but first, he needs to deal with the killer-before the killer deals with him.
