Résumé

When an egotistical dog decides to be a hero, he messes up relationships, creates angry enemies, and panics the U. S. government. In a shabby house in Ohio, a Schnauzer named Whiskers listens to tales of heroes and imagines that he could be one. Then fate intervenes and forces him to leave home. In his travels, the spunky pooch rescues dogs and people, but his big ego messes up personal relationships and gets him on the wrong side of dangerous individuals.
Saving himself becomes a top priority, including running from hungry hillbillies, matching wits with a merciless pile of manure, and staying ahead of the human federal agency that wants to arrest him. But the day is coming when Whiskers will meet his greatest challenge. The fate of a panic-stricken America will hang in the balance, and so will Whiskers' chance of ever finding a new home.
