Résumé
William Ramos has finally returned to London, the city of his birth. Determined to pursue his dream of becoming an author and build a life of his own, he finds out that achieving his dreams proves far more difficult than he imagined. Having lost Laura to another man, William tries to leave the past behind. Yet Laura remains on the horizon, her face and the memories of their time together refusing to disappear.
Then two very different women enter his life. Quiet and gentle Guoping offers William the possibility of the peaceful life he has always longed for, while the outspoken and unpredictable Giselle brings a very different kind of excitement. Both women want him-but William must decide which, if either, can give him the happiness he seeks. Meanwhile, life in London presents challenges of its own. A difficult new workplace brings fresh experiences of bullying, while the struggle to find somewhere he can truly call home reminds William that returning to his birthplace does not necessarily mean finding where he belongs.
As William attempts to reconcile his dreams with the realities of adulthood, he must confront jealousy, love, loneliness and the ghosts of the past.
