Rob Hourmont is a former World Cup and Olympic ski racer from the United Kingdom. At just 15 years old, he became the youngest British Senior Slalom Champion in history - a record that still stands 40 years later! He went on to claim multiple Junior and Senior British Ski Championships before qualifying for the 1988 Winter Olympics at age 18, where he finished 21st in Slalom from a field of 120 competitors.
By 1990, Rob was ranked in the world's top 20 before a severe training accident ended his career, leaving him with devastating knee damage. Despite that setback, Rob refused to quit. He rebuilt his strength, returned to recreational skiing, and carried forward a deep understanding of athletic performance, sports nutrition, movement, and recovery - knowledge forged over years of elite competition. In 2016, his right knee required full replacement with a titanium prosthesis.
Rather than accept decline, Rob used the experience as a turning point. He discovered the ketogenic lifestyle, completed his certification through the Primal Health Coach Institute, and began experimenting with nutrition, locally sourced food, and bodyweight training. Within three months, he had lost 60 pounds, built lean muscle, and transformed his health entirely. Rob has since coached over 1000 clients to lose weight, build strength, and reclaim confidence and a positive mindset.
He holds an MBA from the University of Cumbria, UK, and has been writing professionally about health, nutrition, and lifestyle since 2019. He is a Top Writer on Medium across Food, Health, Life, Life Lessons, and Self-Improvement. His no-nonsense approach cuts through industry noise and challenges mainstream dietary and medical advice - showing readers that getting fit, losing weight, and living well is simpler than they've been led to believe.
He is the author of The Ultimate Guide to Weight Loss, Fitness, and Health and The Ultimate Bodyweight Workout Bible. You Will Die in Bali is Rob's debut fictional thriller thriller - a gripping, controversial novel drawn from his own experiences in Indonesia. He is currently completing the Bali sequel and his new health title. His new health book is published and titles "Die Young As Late as Possible."
