Jahrhunderts, die sich inhaltlich und/oder formal auf die biblische Tradition der Psalmen beziehen: von Else Lasker-Schüler, Georg Trakl und Bertolt Brecht über Karl Wolfskehl, Gertrud Kolmar und Nelly Sachs bis hin zu Ingeborg Bachmann, Christine Lavant, Thomas Bernhard, Friedrich Dürrenmatt und Peter Huchel. Der Fokus liegt auf Dichtern aus der Bukowina: Alfred Margul-Sperber, Isaac Schreyer, Alfred Gong, Immanuel Weißglas und Paul Celan.
Abgeschlossen wird das Buch mit einem Exkurs über die Psalm-Gedichte des Gegenwartsautors Said. "The other tradition. Psalms-Poems of the 20th Century" deals with poems which refer to Biblical Psalms in content and form. The author analyses poems by German-writing poets of the last century: from Else Lasker-Schüler, Georg Trakl and Bertolt Brecht through Karl Wolfskehl, Gertrud Kolmar and Nelly Sachs to Ingeborg Bachmann, Christine Lavant, Thomas Bernhard, Friedrich Dürrenmatt and Peter Huchel.
Special attention is given to some poets from the Bucovina: Alfred Margul-Sperber, Isaac Schreyer, Alfred Gong, Immanuel Weißglas and Paul Celan. An excursus on Psalm-Poems by contemporary author Said concludes the book.
