Diakonie und Kirche stehen vor einer Reihe struktureller Herausforderungen. Was ist und was braucht es für eine Diakonie auf der Höhe der Zeit? Der vorliegende Aufsatzband versammelt verschiedene Erfahrungen und Perspektiven aus Geschichte und Gegenwart, aus Theorie und Praxis, aus Kirche und Diakonie. Erfahrungen aus der Diakonie in der DDR kommen genauso zur Sprache wie die Perspektive auf eine zunehmend von Säkularisierung und Pluralisierung geprägte Gegenwart.
