A clock is ticking, but the countdown is silent.  A war is coming, but the battle has already begun. A debt is owed, but the payment has already been collected.  Years of guilt, anger, and envy cannot be stifled any longer. However, between the audit and the changes slated for the new tenant, it proves to be difficult.  When Cori discovers that her rings are no longer working, her efforts to maintain her independence only serve to put her in the crosshairs of Danato and Ethan.
But it seems that she isn't the only one keeping a secret. In an effort to finally uncover the truth about Ethan's time in China, Danato discovers more than he bargained for.  With Daniel in prison, Heaton teams up with Gypsy to help keep the peace with the Council of the Moon's new matriarch. Unfortunately, Nevia's erratic werewolf hormones nearly get them all killed. If Heaton can't find a way to help her, he will lose yet another partner.
