He is the author of the Cannabis America trilogy-Smuggler's Blues: A True Story of the Hippie Mafia; Kingpin: Prisoner of The War on Drugs; and In the World: From the Big House to Hollywood-as well as Altered States of America: Outlaws and Icons, Hitmakers and Hitmen.
