Résumé
When the popular merchant Malcolm O'Sullivan was murdered assistant procurator Hugh Lamont got his first chance to solve a major crime. He successfully proved that Malcolm's business rival Keane Murphy killed him, but after the trial a court guard is killed with a message left on the body that Keane was wronged. Hugh sets out to find out who was responsible and that leads him to a surprising conclusion.
