E. J. Simon was born in New York City and grew up in Queens. His parents were both from Greece; his father became a successful furrier on Manhattan's Fifth Avenue in the 1950s when mink coats were fashionable. His mother grew up in Durham, North Carolina and his annual travels back to visit his mother's family led to his love of the South. In 2013 E. J. Simon published the first book in his Michael Nicholas series, Death Never Sleeps, which became a Kindle bestseller.
Since then he has published four more books in the series, which have proved equally popular. He's a member of the Author's Guild, The Mystery Writers of America and the North Carolina Writer's Network, and holds an M. A. in Communications from Fairfield University and a B. A. in Journalism from the University of South Carolina. Simon and his wife, Andrea, now live in Durham, North Carolina and are savoring southern living, the theatre, music, cooking, dining out and building their photography collection.
He still is an avid New York Yankees fan but also follows the Durham Bulls.
