Résumé

Ken was cross-country skiing on the Aspen Forest Trail at the Bear Valley Ski Resort when he stopped for a bathroom break. He left the trail, and near a large boulder was the frozen body of his friend Jerry. As Ken approached the body, blood from where an object had smashed the back of Jerry's skull was evident. Ken knew the local police were incompetent, so he solicited help from his friend, Elena, who had helped him solve two previous murder cases.
Three motives emerged as they looked into the matter: jealousy, financial loss, and revenge. Jerry and Lance had been partners for ten years, and the relationship ended when Jerry moved in with Brandon. Lance found a new partner, Charles, who openly resented how Jerry treated Lance. Was the murder about Charles, Brandon, or Lance being jealous? The Goodman brothers had invested $100, 000 in Jerry's new business venture.
Jerry disappeared. Was this about making Jerry pay because they had lost their money? Jerry had swindled investors in the San Francisco Bay Area, and the account manager at Quito Road Investments was fired. His reputation was ruined. This man was forced to move from a high-powered position in Silicon Valley to Stockton and struggle to make his small firm successful. After years of depression, he took his life.
His daughter and son blamed Jerry for this tragedy. Did these two get revenge for the death of their father?
