Dark Adversary

Enemies to Lovers... Danielle Forester, with her shoulder-length thick blonde hair and sparkling blue eyes, is a quiet girl who doesn't particularly like parties, yet here she is at her first book launch. A first-time author, she's thrilled to see her book in print but daunted at the prospect of mingling with so many other talented writers. But they were a friendly bunch, and she gradually allowed herself to relax. Her pride, however, was somewhat dented when she overheard a couple mention her book.
The woman claimed to have enjoyed the story; the man was far from complimentary, calling the book a load of puerile drivel. Annoyed, Dani muttered her own uncomplimentary remark as she brushed by him, which certainly gained his attention.  Grant Marsden stared after her with a deepening frown, wondering if he had heard right, then shrugged and dismissed her from his mind. For now. Unfortunately for Dani, she encountered Grant again at another party her friend Lucy persuaded her to attend.
She was standing idly glancing around the room, a drink in hand, when Lucy gave a gasp of pure lust and commented on the gorgeous hunk that had just entered the room, likening him to a lethal weapon. All dangerous masculinity, powerfully built, and with dark, rugged good looks. When Dani saw him, she recognised him straight away as the odious man she'd bumped into at her first book launch. But she couldn't deny the instant pull of desire, which shocked her.
How could she possibly be drawn to him of all people? Grant took one look at Dani and felt more than the usual stir of desire. It was her, the girl from the boring function his sister had blackmailed him into attending. If he wasn't mistaken, she had been the one to have a dig at him. Grant was a man who liked to be in command and getting his own way. He was used to women falling at his feet, and by the way Dani had turned her back on him, this girl wasn't about to follow their example.  A battle was about to commence, which Grant was sure he would win. They were polar opposites, yet both were drawn together by the sheer sexual chemistry neither could deny. Equals on the battlefield, who will win, or maybe they just might find themselves under each other's spell?
