After watching a fistfight between a princess and the top courtesan in Venice, the king of France used trade negotiations to ensure the courtesan, Tessa, went back to France with him. Here, she had to navigate her way through the politics of the royal court. The king took her as a mistress. The queen had bigger plans for the young woman. She needed a woman with fighting skills to fight her female enemies in duels to the death. Tessa was soon caught up in a dangerous game.
The only way to survive was to continue killing the queen's female enemies in brutal fights to the death. A mysterious woman in the woods watched these fights. She also had plans for Tessa.
