Journey back in time to Christmases past, from Regency England and Wales, through Reformation Scotland, medieval France, and the fairytale setting of King Arthur's court, all the way to Iceland in the Viking Age. Each of these seven short stories and one novella have been inspired by an historical ghost story, taking place during and around the Christmas and New Year's season. You'll meet demonic figures, talking dogs, wild hunts, and enchanted knights, until you find yourself spending time at the struggling settlement of Frodiswater in the Viking Age, under siege from revenants and cursed by a mysterious plague.
And in each story you'll meet the people of the past, determined to enjoy their Yuletide celebrations despite the mayhem and tragedy taking place around them.
