Résumé
My journey to conflict management and resolution has been incredible and enlightening. In the words of the late great Langston Hughes, "Life for me ain't been no crystal stair. It's had tacks in it and splinters and boards torn up."Having parents who struggled with addiction, being a single mother, and moving to a new state without a support system all forced me to focus and make things happen. During my journey, the books I've read on conflict and the papers I've researched have primarily been in textbook form, not written with younger generations in mind.
Seeing the lack of youth focus or vibrancy in these books, along with the lack of tips on dealing with conflict in urban communities, I made it my mission to create a comprehensive, cohesive, and upbeat guide to conflict resolution that can be quickly read and understood in layperson's terms for the masses.
