Résumé
The pandemic has undoubtedly taken us by surprise. Many countries have turned out to be unprepared for the epidemic, while others have become an example for others. In some countries, the epidemic was initially controlled (Taiwan, Japan). In others, the virus expanded faster (Italy, Spain, Iran). Subsequently, the economy of many countries, the health care, and the social welfare of the population have been affected.
Globally, nearly 20 million new cases and more than 114, 000 deaths were reported from 2 to 29 January 2023. Epidemiological trends in the last weeks of January 2023 were dominated by an enormous surge in cases and deaths in the Western Pacific region, particularly in China. In this book the Author tells everything that is known about the coronavirus to date, February 2023, proceeding according to the principles of evidence-based medicine.
In addition to providing data on the properties of the virus and its origin, the book deals with pathophysiology, clinical data, complications, diagnosis, treatment and prognosis of COVID-19, vaccination against SARS-CoV-2, hygiene procedures and correct use of personal protection, impact of COVID-19 and vaccines on reproductive health, effect of SARS-CoV-2 infection on pregnant women and the fetus and newborn, on the management of patients with COPD and COVID, management of children with COVID, patients with diabetes and COVID.
It is a comprehensive and concise clinical guide including a comprehensive bibliography.
