In welchem Kontext steht das frühe Berufstheater zu den Ordnungsmächten Kirche, Staat und Stadt? Eva-Maria Hansers Untersuchung zeigt die vielschichtigen Abhängigkeiten zu diesen Ordnungsmächten und macht die weitreichende Anpassungsfähigkeit dieses Theaters sichtbar. Als Grundlage dient der Autorin dabei der Kodex Ia 38.589, eine Sammelhandschrift, die aus vierzehn Spieltexten besteht, welche auf Vorlagen unterschiedlichster Provenienz zurückgehen und sich mit der Spielpraxis verschiedener Truppen in Verbindung bringen lassen.
Über die Kontextualisierung dieser Theaterform und seiner Spieltexte mit Diskursen, performativen Praktiken und anderen Theaterformen der Frühen Neuzeit gewinnt die Autorin Erkenntnisse über die Spielpraxis des frühen Berufstheaters und der ihr zu Grunde liegenden Prinzipien. The basis for this study is the Codex Ia 38.589. The Codex consists of fourteen handwritten play texts based on literary sources of various provenance and associated with the performance practice of various troupes. The study seeks to gain insights into the performance practice of early professional theatre and its underlying principles by contextualizing it with early modern discourses, other performative practices and forms of theatre.
