Résumé

Government of India will be spending about 14% of India's estimated GDP of Rs. 357 trillion in 2025-26 as the government  has budgeted expenditure of Rs. 50.65 trillion for 2025-26, including Rs. 11.21 trillion for capital expenditures, another 12.76 trillion for interest payments, about Rs. 4.26 trillion on subsidies like food and fertilisers and Rs. 5.41 trillion on centrally sponsored programmes (CSSs) in the states. The budget expenditures of 2025-26 will touch the life of everyone- individuals, households, workers, businessmen- directly or indirectly through a variety of interventions- provision of public goods, boosting economic growth, controlling inflation, promoting social welfare and governance of the country. This book explains everything relating to the expenditures of the government. Government of India tax proposals generate all-round interest.
Companies worry about tax on their goods, profits, equities and bonds. Households and individuals look at the budget speech  proposals how their salaries, savings and capital gains are going to be taxed. Wider investment community wants to figure out government's disinvestment, privatisation, dividends and other non-tax receipts. All the tax, non-tax and disinvestment proposals and performance of the government have been thoroughly analysed and commented upon in the book. Economists, media, banks, foreign portfolio investors (FPIs), investment managers, brokerages and everyone else, with a direct or indirect stake.
in India's economy, savings, credit, financial markets and other macroeconomic aspect watch very carefully, in addition to expenditure and tax proposals, the budget proposals impacting interest rates and other macroeconomic indicators. This book presents an in-depth analysis of the macro-economic performance of the Indian economy and the implications of budget proposals. The book, unlike the larger book, does not have three parts.
It has 16 chapters, all relating to the budget 2025-26, although it builds the story and provides background for entire Modi 2.0 period and takes on board all important decisions of Budget 2024-25. I am sure you will find this book highly informative, easy to navigate and everything you might be looking for in the Government of India Budget.
